Structuralism

Structuralist Criticism is the offshoot of certain developments in linguistics and anthropology saussure model of the sychronic study of language was an attempt to formulate the grammar of language from a study of parol. The best work in structuralist poetics has been done in the field of narrative.

There are the five main concepts  used by Genette's in 'narrative discourse: an essay in method'. They are primarily used to look at the syntax of narratives rather than to perform an interpretation of them.

2. Frequency
3. Duration
4. Voice
5. Mood

               Here i want to give example of movie 'Badlapur' it is crime thriller film directed by sriram raghvan. The protagonist Raghav takes revenge of his wife ans son. His wife and son are murdered by bank robbers. A story is as follows a murder occurs (eventA), then the circumstances of murder are revealed to a  detective (eventB), finally the  murder is caught (eventC). It is the structure of Revenge. The Revenge is taken by the protagonist.

My perspective on deconstruction.

Deconstruction:-
 
  1)              Deconstruction, as applied in the criticism of literature, designates a theory and practice of reading which questions and claims to "subvert" or "undermine" the assumption that the system of language provides grounds that are adequate to establish the boundaries, the coherence or unity, and the determinate meanings of a literary text. Typically, a deconstructive reading sets out to show that conflicting forces within the text itself serve to dissipate the seeming definiteness of its structure and meanings into an indefinite array of incompatible and undecidable possibilities.

                         Deconstruction  is a post-structuralist term referring to the new way texts are read and interpreted. It is view of literature derived from Jacques Derrida's theory of writing and more  distantly from the linguistics of saussure.
